Notodden and Suwalki proceed with new cooperation activities in 2011

Tuesday, the 12 January Suwalki and Notodden have signed an activity plan for 2011. The two Innovation Circle Network members have been cooperating for several years now and the activity plan for the next year promises cooperation will be continued. Quite small but a very warm ceremony took place in Suwalki presidents Czesław Renkiewicz office. Notodden Municipality was represented by the mayor Ms. Lise Wiik and international adviser Mr. Bjørn Frode Moen. In addition several officials from Suwlaki Municipality and representatives of the Innovation Circle Network were observing the process.

Architect Competition for Maria Konopnicka Square in Suwalki

The architect competition for development of the public space of Maria Konopnicka Square in Suwałki implemented within WP5 of TRANS-IN-FORM Project, BSR 2007-2013 was announced on August 27, 2010. It was announced in Polish in the public information bulletin of Suwalki Municipality, in the National Public Procurement Bulletin in Poland as well as the announcement was sent for publication in the Public procurement EU Official Bulletin. Please find the information in English at our website. All the architects internationally are invited to take part in the competition.

Polish -Latvian cooperation on healthy life

Innovation Circle Network partners from Suwalki (Poland) and Prekuli (Latvia) implemented a project called „Healthy life style”. Lifelong learning and continuing teachers’ Centre in Suwalki and Interactive Youth Centre in Priekuli „REST(e)” participated. There was also planned involvement of a Norwegian partner from Notodden, unfortunately from some organizational reasons their participation had to be canceled.

Suwalki Blues Festival 2010!

Suwałki invites you to the Blues Festival again! This time it takes place from the 15th to 17th July 2010. It is expected to have bands representing the USA, Great Britain, Norway, Brazil, Hungary, Austria, Lithuania, the Czech Republic and Poland. Two big out-door stages and three smaller ones in the town centre will be built. In addition a number of activities for event visitors will be suggested such as blues breakfasts, club concerts, acoustic evening concerts, night jam sessions, and many others!

Suwalki City and Cesis District Signs a Letter of Intent for Cooperation

During Suwalki Blues Festival two authorities have signed a letter of intent for cooperation. Suwalki City Municipality and Cesis District have been in contact for several years now. They both were partners of Innovation Circle Network. As an outcome now there is an official document saying that Suwalki City and Cesis District are ready for a closer cooperation on the issues of socio-economic development, culture and art, tourism promotion, education and sport, environment protection and many others. The letter was signed by President of the Suwalki City Josef Gajewski and Cesis District Council administration director Maris Niklas.

Two months left until SUWALKI BLUES FESTIVAL 2009

The second edition of Suwalki Blues Festival will be launched: July 16–18, 2009. It’s going to be the Big Blues Holiday in this part of Europe.

About 30 performers from USA, UK, Switzerland, Norway, Sweden, Lithuania, Estonia, The Czech Republic and Poland will be in Suwalki. Taking into consideration the positive experiences we had last year, we expect an even bigger interest both from Suwalki citizens as well as tourists from Poland and abroad.

Suwalki City Invites Investors
