"Indre Østfold Regional Council" adopts plan for regional youth council
Youths ready to address regional challenges
The subregion called "Indre Østfold" is formed by 10 municipalities. The population is all together nearly 60.000 people. All communities have a local youth council. Now they go together and form a regional youth council. Friday 21th May a proposal with bylaws was put forward to the Regional Council and adopted. The youth council will have the right to meet and speak and forward proposals to the Regional Council.

Addressing climate change
Planning for a green future
Climate and energy plans are coming up in many Norwegian municipalities. The 10 municipalities within Indre Østfold region recently gathered in Rømskog(IC member municipality) for a kick off event. The national energy agency ENOVA is financially supporting the municipalities in order to boost the planning for more energy sufficient solutions all over the country.
Rømskog municipality
The population in Rømskog is the smallest in Østfold county with about 700 inhabitants. Rømskog is a located in the north east corner of Østfold county, bordering Akershus county in the north and SWeden in the eat. In the south is Marker municipality. The municipality has a well organised service structure and almost no unemployment. Rømskog is a place for recreation and a good place to explore the wilderness. A brand new SPA center will open in 2008.
