Business Angel is a public institution that was established in Alytus in 2002. Following the demise of the planned economy, there was a lot of opportunities for, but little experience with, establishing private businesses in Lithuania. Business Angel was founded in order to help people with little theoretical and practical knowledge about private business, to prepare business plans and evaluate their business ideas realistically.

Alytus is the sixth largest city in the country, the biggest regional economic, administrative, cultural and educational centre of Southern Lithuania. It occupies 40 square kilometres with more than 68 thousand inhabitants. Alytus lies on the banks of the river Nemunas, the biggest river in Lithuania, which connects the city with the seaport of Klaipeda.

The public institution is registered in Lithuania and the headquarter is located to Alytus city. We are located within the Alytus International Innovation Center. Alytus is the regional center of Southern Lithuania, and the city is one of the owners of the institution. From Alytus we can in less than one hour drive to cities like Kaunas and Druskininkai, and it's about 90 minutes drive to Vilnius or Kaunas airports. From Alytus we reach partners in other countries like Suwalki, Augustow and Grodno within a couple of hours.

Druskininkai is a spa-town on the Nemunas river in southern Lithuania. In the 19th century it became a place of summer residence for the middle class of Vilnius, Warsaw and Moscow. Today the city has a population of 18 233 (2001) and is still a highly popular destination for tourists.
