the 5th annual meeting of the Innovation Circle Network recently brought together ICN members and international experts in Siauliai, Lithuania. The conference was held as a part of the Šiauliai 2012 International Trade and Achievement Exhibition in the Siauliai arena. Here participants emphasized the importance of an increased transport network in the Baltic Sea Region and the empowerment of citizens in various discussions and presentations.

5th Annual Conference of the Innovation Circle

Development of Communities & Empowerment of People

On Saturday an intense annual conference of the Innovation Circle Network ended in Siauliai, Lithuania. The first snow, new faces and new ideas made this event a very fruitful and worthwhile meeting that clarified the importance of ICN. Amongst other topics the discussions and presentations emphasized the importance of an increased transport network in the Baltic See Region and the empowerment of citizens.

New ICN Board Elected

Where are we heading to in 2013?

The annual ICN conference that recently took place in Siaulia, Lithuania was not only an event with fruitful discussions towards European transport strategies and priorities and its consequences for rural areas in Northern Europe. ICN members also joined for the annual meeting, to elect the new board.

Co-financing for rebuilding Maria Konopnicka Place

Good news for Suwalki

ICN partner Suwalki Municipality in Poland got the financing from the Regional Operational Programme of the Podlaskie Region for rebuilding the Maria Konopnicka Place in Suwalki. The city got the highest score on the list: 85 percent of co-financing.

Regions and Cities ready for the European year 2013

One month before the official start of the European Year 2013 and only a few days after the EU Member States failed to reach an agreement on the EU budget the forum of the Committee of the Regions (CoR) will take place from 29 – 30 November. The President of the European Commission, José Manuel Barroso, will address the CoR plenary session to present the European Commission's Work Programme and priorities for 2013.
