We collected some of the highlights of this summer and invite you to take a look back before we start into the next season, looking for innovative ideas for new projects. Notodden celebrated with 40.000 visitors

When you get the Blues

One cannot deny that a slightly bluesy feeling grips you when you sit on the bus from Notodden to Oslo after days full of Blues, happiness and sunshine. But at least the two hours in the TIMEkspressen gives you time to recall Norway’s biggest Bluesfestival.

Final TiF Activities in Jelgava

Golden, Blue and Green

This summer in the territory of „Lici“ farm in Jelgava Local Municipality visitors from seven different countries and many locals gathered to celebrate the unveiling of a new logo for the region. Designed in the shape of a sail this logo can be regarded as a symbol for development.

ICN Board met to discuss futures tasks

Where Europe?s heart beats

Last week the board members of the Innovation Circle Network met in Riga to discuss the latest issues and brainstorm on new tasks. Besides collecting ideas for future projects the ICN board members decided that the scene for the next annual conference should be the place where Europe’s heart beats.

The idea of making your town more attractive has been central to the Trans-in-Form INTERREG project in which several IC members are partners. Now an ESPON Report from the “ATTREG” project has researched this project and published its findings. It points to the fact that some of the places that have been seen as being very successful in the recent past are now struggling to sustain their success.

European Conference on Public Communication

EuroPCom 2012

Communication managers and senior experts of local, regional, national and European authorities will gather for the third edition of EuroPCom, the European Conference on Public Communication. The conference will take place on 17 and 18 October 2012 in Brussels. Last year over 600 colleagues participated in this networking event.

A new book tries to give answers

What does it take to create great streets?

PPS –Project for Public Space recently discussed that question with the architects and urban designers John Massengale and Victor Dover. The two of them will soon release their new book Street Design, The Art & Practice of Making Complete Streets (Wiley, 2012), which details the art and practice of creating great streets for people.
