Lithuanian and Latvian authorities meet for better cooperation

On January 20-21, 2011 the representatives of Association of Local Authorities in Lithuania (LSA) were visiting Latvian Association of Local and Regional Governments (LALRG) for the exchange of experience. During the visit the representatives met the chairman and advisers of LALRG in order to discuss the principles of the action in LALRG and LSA. By all means the solution for the topical problems concerning local authorities in Latvia and Lithuania were prospected.

Latvian Association of Local and Regional Governments is actively involved in solving environmental issues

Project „Eco-Europe for the future” is sustained by the European Commission through the Programme Europe for Citizens 2007-2013 and carried out by the Mountain Community of Iezer Muscel (Romania) in partnership with Latvian Association of Local and Regional Governments, RAM “Central Stara Planina” (Bulgaria), Downpatrik Twinning Partnership (Northern Ireland), XVII Comunita Montana Monti Aurunci (Italy).

The Latvian Association of Local and Regional Governments (LALRG)

LALRG is an association unifying local and regional governments of the Republic of Latvia on the voluntary basis. It was founded on December 15, 1991. Today, in accordance with the article 96 of the "Law on Local Governments", the LALRG has the authority to represent local and regional governments in the negotiations with the Cabinet of Ministers as the LALRG associates 118 members
