Marlene Ockander points out international cooperation as one of the strategic areas for the Regional council of Jönköping County. She also expects that the IC Network can give help to further development of international cooperation. 13 municipalities are members of the County Council.

The Regional Council of Jönköping County was constituted on 1 January 2005 and was commissioned to work for sustainable developments and new growth in the region. The thirteen municipalities of the county and the County Council are represented in the Regional council, which strengthens their political influence on the development of the region.
