Druskininkai Theatre Festival is mostly visited cultural event in the city during a year. It lasts from the very beginning of summer until the middle of September. Organizers say that each year theatre performances are enriched by various music artists and alternative art performances.

Irena Lynikiene and Zita Peciukeviciute are ready for transforming parts of Druskininkai. Their concrete project is the reconstruction of the previously fashionable and popular Recuperative park. The park deteriorated dramatically during Soviet time and is today not living up to the idea, although people still can find a calm and friendly atmosphere under the branches of the impressive trees.

Druskininkai is a spa-town on the Nemunas river in southern Lithuania. In the 19th century it became a place of summer residence for the middle class of Vilnius, Warsaw and Moscow. Today the city has a population of 18 233 (2001) and is still a highly popular destination for tourists.
