The Baltic Sea Award is an annual award for extraordinary contributions to the development of the Baltic Sea Region. It was established in 2007. Apart from the honor the honor, the Award consists of 5000 Euro and a diploma. This year the Baltic Sea Award is sponsored by The Danish Industry Foundation. You are invited to nominate distinguished candidates for the 2010 Award. The winner will be announced at the Baltic Development Forum Summit in 1-2 June 2010, in connection to the Gala Dinner which will be held in the Beautiful Old Town of Vilnius.
2009 - Last year the Award was honored Ms. Arminta Saladžienė , Chairman of the Management Board of NASDAQ OMX Lithuania and of the Executive Committee of the Baltic Institute of Corpo-rate Governance, for her work regarding good corporate gov-ernance in the Baltic States.
2008 - The 2008 Award was honored Ms. Tarja Halonen , President of Finland, for her long-standing record of focusing on the common good for the Baltic Sea Region.
2007 - The first Baltic Sea Award in 2007 was honored the founder of Baltic Sea 2020 Mr Björn Carlsson , for his personal engagement to improve the environmental quality of the Baltic Sea

Award Criteria
The Baltic Sea Award aims to promote individuals or organizations that fulfil one or several of the following criteria:
Individuals or organizations from Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Poland, Russia and Sweden are eligible.
